with cerebral palsy, especially with limited independent position changes (GMFCS III–V)
Who it is for
The mattress is used for children whose doctor or physiotherapist has recommended maintaining a specific hip position during sleep. This most often applies to children:
with cerebral palsy, especially with limited independent position changes (GMFCS III–V)
with SMA, spina bifida and other neurological conditions associated with a risk of hip subluxation or dislocation
with significant dystonia
after hip surgery, during the period in which the orthopaedic specialist recommends stable positioning of the limbs
with increased adductor tone, scissoring of the legs or persistent positioning to one side
who do not change position independently at night or repeatedly return to the same unfavourable position
The decision to use the mattress and choose the position is made by the specialist responsible for the child's care. If you are unsure whether this solution is suitable for your child, describe the situation in the contact form.
SECURASleep positioning mattresses are custom-made based on the child’s measurements. They support appropriate hip positioning during sleep - in the position recommended by a specialist.
Introducing SECURASleep in a medical facility - from product presentation to independent patient support by the clinical team.
Choosing a mattress starts with a conversation with a specialist, not a shopping cart.

The mattress is made from the child’s measurements and an outline of the child’s limbs, so its shape matches the individual patient rather than a size from a chart.

The position of the supports can be adjusted within the range agreed during fitting, without replacing the entire mattress.

They show exactly where to position the child. A parent, ward nurse or nanny can place the child in the same position.

The movable elements have removable covers washable at 30°C, which is important in everyday use and during the postoperative period.

For beds up to 90 cm wide, the mattress becomes part of the bed and does not shift relative to the frame.

The mattress can be ordered before a planned operation so that it is ready for the child’s return home.
I am a neurological physiotherapist with nine years of experience working with children who require positioning and standing support. I personally select, measure and customise every mattress - SECURASleep is not sold anonymously.
If your facility works with children after hip surgery or in orthopaedic prevention, let’s discuss cooperation: product presentation, team training and the option to place orders independently.

SECURASleep is a positioning mattress made using the child’s measurements and a tracing of the lower limbs. A system of supports keeps the body in the position recommended by the physiotherapist or orthopaedic specialist - on the back, on either side, or in both positions on one mattress.
The body is positioned symmetrically and surrounded by supports on both sides. A 15° or 30° abduction wedge keeps the lower limbs abducted, while thigh supports and stabilising straps limit internal rotation at the hip joints. This variant is most often used in the postoperative period.
The mattress follows the back and guides the body along its natural line. The upper leg rests on a support that positions the knee at hip height without adduction. A support behind the knee prevents the leg from sliding, while straps and a cushion stabilise the whole position. Bilateral configuration for the left and right side.
A complete set of supports for all three positions on one mattress. Designed for children who need position changes during the night, and for situations where the final target position has not yet been established.
Every mattress is made individually. We prepare the quotation after a consultation and selection of the right variant.
